The atelier

A room measuredby the vats.

In a quiet workshop in Kuramae, cloth moves through water, air, and time. We work in small runs, attending to the vat rather than asking it to hurry.

The vat / Six immersions

Blue is built,not applied.

A single dip leaves only a suggestion. Depth comes from immersion and air, repeated without haste.

01

Wake the vat

The living indigo is stirred at first light.

02

Lower the cloth

Every fold is opened beneath the surface.

03

Give it air

Green cloth turns blue as it meets oxygen.

04

Return and rest

The rhythm repeats, then the cloth dries.

One cloth / one becoming

Each return carries the color farther inward.
