Morning at the Vat

The workshop opens with the vats. Their surface tells us what the eye cannot see below: warmth, fermentation, and whether the indigo is ready to work.

We stir gently and watch the bloom gather. No two mornings are exact. Weather moves through the room, and the vat answers in its own time.

Only then do we prepare the cloth. Dyeing begins with attention before it becomes an action.
